Knoodle is a free puzzle game made by Knoodle LLC ("we", "us"). We built Knoodle to be
enjoyable and respectful of your privacy: there are no ads, no third-party trackers, and we
collect only what we need to run your account and sync your progress. This policy explains
what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
What we collect
Account information. When you choose to sign in (with Apple, Google, or
Facebook), we receive a unique identifier for your account from that provider and, if you
permit it, your email address. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we only ever see the
private relay address Apple provides. We store these to create and secure your account and
to reconnect you to your saved progress.
Game progress and stats. Your streaks, statistics, level/XP, and
in-progress puzzles are saved to your account so they stay in sync across your devices.
Anonymous daily-puzzle results. When you finish a daily puzzle, the
outcome (solved or not, and number of guesses) is added to anonymous, aggregate counters
that power the community "guess distribution" you see in the app. These aggregates are
not linked to your identity.
Your name (on your device only). If Apple provides your name when you
first sign in, or we derive a first name from your email, we store it only on your device
to greet you by name. It is not sent to our servers.
What we do not do
We do not show ads or use advertising identifiers (no IDFA).
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
How we use what we collect
Solely to run the service: to authenticate you, save and sync your game progress, link your
account if you sign in with more than one provider (only ever matched on a provider-verified
email), and show aggregate community stats. We do not use your information for advertising or
profiling.
Service providers
Sign-in providers. Apple, Google, and Facebook handle authentication when
you choose that option; their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy
policies.
Hosting. Your account and saved-game data are stored on private server
infrastructure that we operate and control. Refresh tokens are stored only as one-way
hashes, and all traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
A note on future advertising
Knoodle is free. We may introduce advertising later to support the app. If we do, we will
update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent before any ad-related data
collection or tracking begins.
Keeping and deleting your data
Delete your account anytime, in the app. Open Me → Settings
and tap Delete account. This immediately removes your account and all associated
data - your sign-in identities, session tokens, and saved game data - from our servers.
Anonymous aggregate stats that do not identify you are unaffected.
On-device data. Progress stored locally on your device remains on the
device until you delete the app.
Children
Knoodle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we
will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and revise the effective
date above.
